Welcome to Raising Simba!

Hi everyone, I'm over the top happy that you visited my new blog!

I started this blog to share my experience of having a baby in Taiwan. I've been living here for about 4 years now and when I and my husband decided to start a family, I also started looking up for some information about pregnancy and giving birth in Taiwan. And guess what, I found none!

To find good resources in English, regarding the most important moments in a woman's life, is almost impossible. When I got pregnant my obsession with getting information became even worse. I followed many videos on YouTube, read many posts on mommy's blogs and listened to hours of podcasts. But when it came to having a baby in Taiwan, still nothing... so I've decided to be the one who's gonna write about it!

Taiwan is very foreigners friendly and more and more foreigners are coming to live in this beautiful island. I hope my blog will help them seek information about pregnancy, parenthood and family life in Taiwan. Especially for families who like to do things differently, naturally and stress-free.

Writing has been one of my favorite things since high school, gosh I just loved writing essays. When I came to Taiwan for the first time, I launched a blog about my experiences, it was in Czech, my native language, and the readers were mostly my friends and family members. It worked as a platform for me to share my emotions and feelings about traveling alone for the first time in my life. Needless to say that the blog didn't last for too long... :) Shortly after I arrived I met my husband and he became a big part of my days in Taiwan.

With Raising Simba, the intention is way stronger. Sharing experiences is one part, educating about the topic itself is the other important part, and showing a life of a multicultural family living in Asia is the most important. :)

And why Raising Simba? My husband and I love The Lion King, both versions. When we met we were joking that our firstborn will be named Simba. We still love the name crazily but we know that naming our baby Simba is  bit too crazy :D.

Enjoy reading and let me know what you think! I'll be glad for any feedback <3
